All scans are performed by a qualified Sonographer or obstetrician with diagnostic early pregnancy or advanced pregnancy scanning experience. We recommend that you present your pregnancy scan results to your usual healthcare professional whose contact details we take at the time of booking or scanning.
Early pregnancy scan (also known as viability or pregnancy confirmation scan) is done to determine the viability of an early pregnancy using ultrasound, single or multiple pregnancy between 7 – 11 weeks gestation & no sexing or gender is done. It May involve transvaginal / internal Scanning.Includes:
- Heartbeat and gestation measurements
- Report and 2D ultrasound b/w prints
Pre-scan preparation
Need to expose abdomen so ideally wear 2 piece garments i.e. trousers or skirt and top.
A full bladder may be required for early pregnancy scan and not normally required after about 12 weeks of pregnancy.
